What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a leading science-based healthcare profession, which views human movement as central to the health and well being of individuals. Physiotherapists identify and maximize movement potential through health promotion, preventive healthcare, treatment and rehabilitation. The core skills used by physiotherapists include manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and the application of electro physical modalities.

Physiotherapists are as essential as doctors in helping recover and rehabilitate a patient from a stat of incapacity, due to genetic defect or the result of an accident or an illness. The job of a physiotherapist is very important and challenging but Iucrative at the same time.

Physiotherapy is a preventive and remedial procedure often alongside oral medication. It helps in the optimal functioning of the body and is strongly recommended for people with degenerative disorders, the physically challenged, sports people, heart patients, accident victims and those suffering from diseases like arthritis, rheumatism and neurological disorders. It also includes heat radiation, water therapy, massages, diathermy, traction and other procedures, physiotherapy is also a part of the follow up program in case of convalescents and postoperative patients. They also play a part before a doctor beings the actual treatment.
