General nursing course programme
 
The course in general nursing & midwifery shall be of three years and six months duration divided as follows :-
   
preliminary period of 12 weeks.
Three years including the preliminary period theroy and practice in general nursing & midwifery & community health.
Six months of internship period wherein the students are posted in the clinical areas accompanied by teaching faculty.
   
 
     
I year 46 weeks 1656 hours.
II year 46 weeks 1656 hours.
III year 46 weeks 1656 hours.
   
Internship :
 
     
Total duration 26 weeks/ 6 months
Vacation 01 week
Examinition 01 week
   
 
     
Total working hours of each day 8 hours
Hours per week 8*6= 48 hours
Total hours of internship 48*24=1152 hours.
Total hours of theroy instruction 190 hours
Total hours of clinical postings 1152-190=962 hours
   
 
Practical & theroy examination will be conducted at the end of 6 months
Diploma by the examination board will be issued after succesful completion of the internship period.
