At the end of three
years of study, the students are expected to :
Have the aptitude,
knowledge and skill necessary for assessing
nursing needs of the individuals through
out the life-cycle, families and communities.
Apply
relevant knowledge from biological and behavioral
science in planning and carrying out safe
nursing care activities.
Co-operate
with other members of the health team in
the hospital or in the community in prevention
of disease, promotion of health, restoration
of health and rehabilitation.
Impart
health knowledge to individuals and group
through health education.
Demonstrate
skill in the use of problem solving methods
in nursing practice.
Demonstrate
ability to supervise and guide auxiliary
personnel who are part of the nursing team.
Demonstrate
understanding of and commitment of professional
behavior.
Carry
out of the above in true Christian spirit
of service to fellow men and be committed
to the welfare of our country.
Vacations & Holidays
:
Annual vacation – 30 days
Sick leave – 10 days per annum
Preparatory holiday – 7 days per annum
Clinical Experience
:
Student may be assigned for
observing and practicing what they are learning
under careful supervision in the clinical area.
A careful and continuous assessment of a student’s
knowledge, abilities and attitudes will determine
whether he/she should continue in nursing after
the first three months on successful completion
of a formal school test.
Night Shift :
Students must be under the
supervision of a registered nurse when assigned
to night shifts. This assignment should not be
given until after the first year and a total of
eight weeks during the entire course.

Clinical
and field experience
Progress
reports on assessment in theory and performance
for each subject and clinical/field.
Marks list

Practical
record book for each student
Cumulative
record. Final summary at the end of the course
Note :
Frequent
assessment in each subject is recommended
Student’s
must be assessed for competency regularly
in clinical / field experience.
A
summary of the assessments for each subject
and for the clinical field experience should
be used to determine the internal marks in
the examinations listed below.
The internal
marks for each theory before each council/board
examination
The board
shall conduct written and practical examination
at the end of each year.
