Eligibility:
 
The students to be eligible to appear for the Annual State Board Examination should have 75% of attendance, separately in lecture and clinical area.
 
 

Passed the two year Pre-University examination or equivalent as recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University Health Science, with science subjects, viz, Physics, Chemistry and Biology

Obtained at least forty-five percent of the marks in science subjects of qualifying examination, if belonging to a scheduled or a scheduled tribe, should have obtained not less than forty percent of the total marks in science subjects of the qualifying examination.
Completed 17years of age at the time of admission or will complete this age on or before 31st December of the year of the admission.

To provide a balance of professional and general education and

To enable a student to become a professional nurse practitioner who has self-direction and is a responsible citizen.
Graduates of the program are prepared for beginning level position in community and institutional nursing service; and have the foundation for continuing professional development and for postgraduate study in nursing.
 
   
Through planned guided experience, students are provide with opportunities to develop :
 
 

A board concept of the fundamental principals of nursing care based on sound knowledge and satisfactory level of skill in providing care to people of all ages in a community or institutional setting.

Understanding of the application of principles from the physical, biological social behavioral sciences for health status.
Ability to investigate health care problems systematically.
Ability to work collaboratively with members of allied disciplines towards attaining optimum health for all members of society.
Understanding of principles of teaching and their application in their work situation.
Understanding of fundamental principles of administration and organization of nursing services.
Understanding of human behavior and an appreciation of affective interpersonal relationship with individuals, families and groups.
Appreciation of the various factors effecting the community’s social, health and welfare program.
Ability to assume responsibility for continuing learning and for increasing competence in nursing practice.
Appreciation of professional necessary for leadership roles in nursing.
Appreciation of social and ethnical obligations to society
